Blaine's Music Page
Hi, this is some of the music from bands I have been in or just me playing and singing. This site is under construction so it is pretty spotty just now, I'll be posting more of my music from time to time so check back again.
Bondage (1974) - This band had been together all through high school (before I was in the band or even playing music) and had dozens of original songs that were all quite good. I was the new guy and was also very new in my attempt at a career in music. I think I had been playing music about a year at this point and you can hear it in my playing, but not bad for a beginner. I had recently joined this band and still hadn't even learned many of the songs yet when we won a statewide (Utah) battle of the bands. First prize? A recording contract with guaranteed national airplay -- pretty cool, eh? Well just like in the movies, the band got quite an ego and started fighting a bit ("we're stars now, we don't have to play top 40 jobs anymore") and broke up. Four songs were recorded prior to the breakup and I still think these songs hold up very well and would have done well (would still do well today in fact).
